Prof. Dr. Muhammad Usman Ghani is currently serving as Chairman, Department of Computer Science, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. He is a full professor and leading 7 research Labs in the domain of Artificial Intelligence under NCAI (National Centre of Artificial Intelligence. Dr Usman has published over 150 papers in top scientific journals and conferences. His PhD (Sheffield University, Uk) study was concerned with statistical modelling for machine vision signals, specifically language descriptions of video steams. He has been studying images, videos and spoken language processing using statistical approaches, with applications such as information extraction, retrieval and summarization from audio and visual signals His recent work is concerned with multimedia, incorporating text, audio and visual processing into one frame work.
