University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Systems Limited to extend relationships and share experiences with the industry. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Toima Asghar, CHRO – Systems Limited, and Dr. Shafique Muhammad, Director of University Advancement & External Linkage – UET Lahore in the presence of Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice-Chancellor – UET Lahore, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib, Chairman – Department of Computer Science – UET Lahore, and faculty members of the Department of Computer Science – UET Lahore.
Under the agreement, the Department of Computer Science – UET Lahore will exchange up-to-date information, experiences, research and will provide technically sound students through training, certifications, and workshops in collaboration with Systems Limited, while Systems Limited will provide Internship opportunities to the students during and at the end of the degree programs. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry so that students shall be able to gain industry insight for their Final Year Projects (FYPs). The collaboration’s purpose is to improve the curriculum through a collaborative effort between teachers and industry executives, taking current market trends and future industry demands into consideration.
Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar, Vice-Chancellor – UET Lahore said that such industrial linkages would go a long way in producing industry-ready graduates and greatly help in the country’s march to become a force to reckon with on the map of the IT industry of the world. Toima Asghar and Adeel Ahmed Chattha interacted with the students on this occasion and talked about global career opportunities, required market skills, and technology trends in the sectors like Information Technology, Healthcare, Logistics, Construction, and ECommerce.
